Jr. Fair Board Application

Hello & Thank You for your interest,
The Lake County Agricultural Society, also known as the Lake County Fair Board, is interested in
creating a Lake County Junior Fair Board. The youth who are selected to serve have the opportunity to
gain a greater understanding of the details involved in hosting a fair. It also allows young people to
interact with members of the Agricultural Society and share a youth perspective as the groups work
together to plan and host the Lake County Fair. Currently, the Lake County Agricultural Society is
recruiting applicants for the Lake County Fair. We are looking for individuals between the ages of 18
through 35 years old, who have an interest in getting involved with a community-oriented group. No
previous 4-H or Fair experience required.
To apply, interested young people should complete this application form; including having a
recommendation form completed by a teacher, coach, Agricultural Society Member, or other adult
mentor. Select applicants will be invited for an interview. Application does not guarantee an interview
or position on the Board.
Those selected to serve as junior members of the board will be expected to attend the 1 Fair
Board meeting per year (if you cannot attend meetings regularly due to your academic schedule, but are
still interested, please apply.) Junior members will also be expected to actively participate alongside
Lake County Agricultural Society members as they plan and host the 2024 Lake County Fair.
We look forward to receiving your completed application form by Wednesday, October 25th . If
you have any questions regarding the Junior Fair Board, please feel free to contact Matt Hayden (219-
746-5714).
Sincerely,
Lake County Agricultural Society

This is done with the goal of announcing the new Junior Fair Board concurrently with the election of the Lake
County Fair Board the annual October meeting.
We require a standard letter of recommendation for members. This recommendation should be completed by a
teacher, coach, Lake County Agricultural Society member, etc. (We prefer that family members do not serve as
